On Monday, in a sheer failure to control his ego, Putin ordered Russia’s biggest attack in Ukraine yet. This came as a response to a defensive attack on a critical bridge long regarded as a war trophy of the Kremlin which Russia used to get supplies to its troops stationed in East Ukraine. The most widespread strikes against Ukraine in months, a lethal barrage that smashed civilian targets, knocked out power and water, shattered buildings, and killed at least 14 people and wounding 100 others in many regions of Ukraine ranging from Lviv in the west to Kharkiv in the east.
Many of the assaults occurred far from the battle’s front lines and during rush hour, hitting Kyiv playgrounds and university campuses as people were going to work and school.
Hundreds of thousands of people were deprived of electricity into Monday night as a result of the attacks, and Ukrainian authorities requested that people conserve energy in order to deal with the severe shortage. Furthermore, the lack of electricity may also result in water shortages, as the system relies on electricity to operate pumps and other equipment. Starting Tuesday, Ukraine will no longer export power to Europe, as a result of the outages. In addition to losing electricity, residents often lose water when their systems rely on electricity to run pumps and other equipment.
The Emergency Service said that many people were wounded since the attacks came in morning rush hour.
This shelling of innocent civilians ordered by Putin exemplifies the deepest level of human unconsciousness present on planet Earth today, and with it, one of the highest degrees of unawareness of Being. In carrying out what has been coined as “a ploy to erase Ukraine from the face of the Earth”, Putin’s ultra empowered ego has dehumanized the people affected in order to rationalize his decisions.
Spurred on by the deep fear of losing control of his government and going down in history as a failure rather than a “great”, Putin’s ego has also hung on to the falsity that killing people is ok and that lying to his countrymen so that they back his war is warranted.
The best indicator of Putin’s level of unconsciousness is how he reacted to the challenges that life put in his path. Instead of rising, he has fallen deeper into oblivion.
Bringing this level of negativity to his life, only terrible things, one bad after another have followed. Ironically, instead of getting him any closer to resolving the source of all his fears, that is, the deep sense of incompleteness brought upon by deriving his sense of self from identification with the mind and its thoughts (aka, the ego), imposing his will has only made things worse for himself.
As Eckhardt Tolle, one of the wisest men on the planet today, puts it , “The mind can never find the solution… because it itself is an intricate part of the problem”. No matter the political or territorial outcome of his war on Ukraine, for Putin and the war is undoubtedly already an epic fail for his evolution as a human.
